Yogurt Yumm!

So I've been snacking on yogurt lately and found new ways to make it. So I'm sure most of you just go to the store and buy the strawberry flavor or some premade flavor but you should try making your own. Buy some plain yogurt and just add your own fruit to it, this way you can have the flavors you like. Fresh fruit taste amazing in plain yogurt but frozen fruit sometimes add a little kick to it. When I'm in a rush I'll make a smoothie from the yogurt, just a cup of yogurt, some fruits and orange juice, which is great for breakfast. Only one cup of it packs a third of your daily calcium and 12-14 grams of filling protein, along with healhty probiotic bacteria which can aid digestion and even strengthen the immune system. So go ahead and try it.. you'll feel stronger by the day!

Lets take a RUN!

So at the beginnning of this month I decided to set a goal for myself and run 3 miles. Running is one of the best ways to burn those calories. So I decided to follow this plan I read in self and its going pretty well and decided to share the plan with the rest of you.

1st week- walk for 5 minutes at about a level 3. Do intervals for 18 minutes : Jog at level 5 for 2 minutes and walk at level 3 for 1 minute. Do this sequence 6 times and then cool down at your own pace. Total time would be 23 minutes

2nd week- Repeat week 1 but add 1 minute of running and substract 30 seconds of walking for each interval.

3rd week- Repeat week 2 but add 1 minute of running for each interval.

4th week- add 1 minute of running and eliminate the walking from your interval.

Sounds pretty easy huh? Try it and maybe soon running will be one of your new favorite activites :D

Morning Munchies

Good Morning!
Rise and shine everyone it is time to get up and start your day. I don't know about the rest of you, but the first thing that comes to my mind when I get up is "Man I'm hungry." Then I start thinking about what I wanna eat so that I don't feel all groggy. I personally love fruits so I usually munch on a grapefruit while I'm preparing the rest of my meal. The rest of my meal usually includes 3 egg whites and 1/2 pack of plain oatmeal with a dab of brown sugar. I also like to have a bottle of water with that but some go for a fruit juice which is fine. Why do I eat this you guys might ask? Well you need at least 5 servings of fruit and veggies, so my grapefruit is my first serving for the day and the more protein you get in a day the better and my 3 egg whites give me about 30% of what I need for the day. If your in a hurry make yourself a healthy smoothie that has some kind of fresh or frozen fruit, yogurt, and your favorite type of fruit juice. Sounds pretty tasty doesn't it.. try it maybe you'll have a new breakfast favorite.
